WhAT is S.I.T. and WHY does it work?

Trauma is any incident that is too much for the body's nervous system to handle, regardless of whether we are consciously aware of its occurrence. We often think about the big "T" traumas when we think of this word - things like physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, car accidents, injuries or passing of a loved one. These are all traumas that we quickly recognize and label as being "bad enough" to cause PTSD, anxiety disorders and more. Unfortunately, there is also a large number of people attempting to live with anxiety, migraines, insomnia, chronic pain and many more conditions who assume these symptoms are just normal side affects of being stressed, overworked or worn thin with everyday life. Some have even sought aid through doctors visits, traditional talk-therapy, prescriptions, surgeries, etc. and without relief have accepted that it to be a life long burden they must bear. Over 85% of the time, the cause of many conditions can be traced to an trauma induced emotional source. Being affected by the little "t" traumas, that we often don't consider which can affect our nervous system and in turn  affect every aspect of your health, does not have to be a life long sentence of pain and suffering! S.I.T. Therapy can help!

How often have you experienced an event in your life where you felt helpless? Scared? Sad? Disappointed? Bullied? It can be anything big or small that affected your body, mind or spirit. These things or events impact the body's nervous system and its ability to stay regulated. When the nervous system becomes dysregulated, so do all other systems in the body which impacts over all physical, emotional and mental health in innumerable ways.

These incidents and experiences are held in our physical bodies on a cellular level based in emotionally triggered memories. By using S.I.T. techniques, we are able to tap into your nervous system and ask your body where the trauma (big or little) has been parked and held. Once we discovered the root cause of the body's dysregulation, we are able to release the emotional trigger connected to the event which allows the nervous system to release the trauma response, regulate and come back online. This promotes a healing environment for symptoms that have arisen due to the trauma being held in the body from the big "T's" or the little "t's."
